Independent testing · Intertek, Oxford, Cambridge

The difference shows in the analysis.

Independent laboratory analysis of consecutive collagen batches
Measured lot by lot

A certificate of analysis shows that a lot passed. It does not show how close that lot sat to the one before it, or to another supplier’s material. Alpstein reports measured values for every lot against one fixed specification, so a customer can set a delivery beside the last one line by line. Independent laboratories test consecutive batches for purity, structure and consistency: Intertek for identity and purity, Oxford and Cambridge for structure and mechanical properties. Results are published as each study completes.

Pending: confirm with Andy that every CoA carries measured values per lot and that lot history is available to customers on request

How the material is verified

Type I collagen

Batch to batch consistency.

Every lot is measured against one fixed specification, and the values travel with the delivery, so a process tuned on the last batch stays tuned on the next.

Defined fragment length.

Fragment length is set during processing rather than sorted out afterwards, so viscosity, gel time and degradation land where you validated them.

Preserved structure.

A collagen molecule is three strands wound like a rope. Harsh processing unwinds it and the rope stops holding. This process leaves the helix intact, which is why the material still gels and still carries load.

Purity that holds between deliveries.

Glacial water is clean because of where it comes from, not because someone filtered it late. Purity here starts at the herd and is confirmed batch by batch by laboratories with no stake in the result.

That list used to be a wish. Now it is a specification.

Switzerland

A country that measures its own mountains.

Switzerland has spent two centuries surveying its Alps. Every valley mapped, every peak fixed, the same benchmarks read again each season, so a change in the landscape is seen rather than argued about.

Alpstein treats a material the same way. Measured values on every lot, kept as a record, so the next delivery can be set beside the last. That is also why release happens here: testing and certification run through Alpstein Biotech AG before anything ships.

02

Why Alpstein exists

Ask a collagen supplier why the last batch gelled differently, and you rarely get an answer.

So customers plan around it. A research group buys one large lot and rations it. A device maker raises a change control every time the material shifts. A formulation team assembles the viral safety file on its own.

Alpstein removes the guesswork. Every step from skin to vial runs on one line, in one place, on a process Alpstein developed. One specification covers the first gram and the production order. Purity, structure and consistency data comes from independent laboratories with nothing riding on the result.

03

What consistency gives you

Less waste

Fewer rejected lots and fewer deviation reports. Material that behaves like the last delivery is not set aside.

Less waste
Shorter development

Validate the material once. A process tuned on one lot keeps running on the next, so verification is not repeated with each delivery.

Shorter development
Scale without restarting

Pilot and production supply come from the same line and the same specification. Moving up in volume does not send you back to the start of your verification plan.

Scale without restarting
A cleaner submission

Traceability, TSE and BSE files and independent data already exist. The section that stalls programmes is written before it is asked for.

A cleaner submission
Room for new applications

Higher purity and consistency at a cost that leaves margin opens formulations that were not practical before.
